Swimwear Trends 2012 - Waist Cinching

by monokini.com
?This year many waist-cinching belts are beginning to show up on women’s swim suits as a way to add some flair and shape to otherwise unremarkable bathing suits.

Women’s belts are a common fashion accessory that have been used in hundreds of different styles as well as with many different items of women’s clothing. From blue jean cut-offs to woolen dress coats, and everything in between the extremes, belts have been utilized successfully in women’s clothing styles in more ways than you can count, but somehow the designers and trend-setters in the women’s fashion industry have come up with yet another good way to utilize belts, and this year many belts are beginning to show up on women’s swim suits.

Although they might not all look exactly like traditional belts, “belts” of a sort are not being used to good success in providing a waist-slimming factor for women’s bathing suits. The new trend of “Waist Cinching” swimwear adds a new dimension to many otherwise unremarkable bathing suits and the fact that they impart a slimmed-down look to a woman’s waistline in the process has only added to their appeal. The trend toward waist cinching bathing suits is alive and well for 2012 and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Part of the attraction is obviously that waist cinched bathing suits can add some pizzazz to an otherwise old or simple bathing suit. Another factor in this growing trend is also that waist cinching helps add a bit more of an hour-glass shape to a woman with an otherwise less-defined, straight-up-and-down midsection. For more shapely women with more tummy than they’d like, the other end of the spectrum is that waist cinching can help those larger ladies to camouflage and hide their ample mid-sections with a strategically-placed belt. This trend also gives many women an opportunity to finally find a use for some of their unique, but mostly unused belts that they bought in the past but never found the right outfit to employ them with.

In addition to using belts on top of an existing swim suit, like using a linked gold chain belt on a black one-piece to add some waist-accenting fashion, there’s another way to use waist cinching on swimsuits without resorting to wearing a heavy, waist-restricting belt around your midsection. More designers today now seem to be offering 2012 swimsuits that look like they’re belted around the middle; but upon closer inspection you’ll find that the “belted area” is really part of the built-in design of the suit.

These types of belted waist-cinching swimsuits often feature prints with the pattern’s darkest areas strategically banded around the middle, while other styles of one-piece suits may have concealed bands around the midsections as well as under the bust. These styles of waist cinching suits are not notable for their obvious belted components; they are notable for enhancing a woman’s figure in the ways and areas that can make an obvious contribution toward improving her overall figure. Any type of bathing suit that enhances and flatters a woman’s figure is obviously going to be attractive purchase for women of all different sizes and shapes..
